Christmas Eve and Christmas in the UK

A Leisurely start to Xmas eve with Sara and Sofia making the triffle then a tube to town to meet Julian for lunch at a Belgium Muscles and Frits restaurant where Sara and I both agree that it was the best meal we have had in over a year - a simple beef stew.

Sara's Coconut beer - she loved it but ?πŸ“

Next we wandered around town, found some sales and had a bit of merriment at Leicester Square where the girls partook in some fairground rides.

Christmas morning was an early begining with bubbles and presents at 7am.

And a feast of ham and veges and bubbles and as the bible requests there was a motley of puddings.

Have to say Heston Blumenthal's Christmas Pud, with a whole candied orange inside, was pure decadence and we will be taking one or three back with us to china.

...and then once tummies had settled there was an evening walk to a local park with a kick of a football to top off a spectacular day.

Tomorrow is Boxing Day sales... Girls are champing at the bit and I am trying to find a movie to go and watch 😘

  1. Is a triffle a slightly runny trifle? 😜

  2. Or is it a result of putting the Sherry in the cook rather than in the trifle!? πŸ˜ƒ
