Pedestrian tunnel under the HuangPu River....

This was a question mark chicken moment..... Totally not what we were expecting. Isla likened the experience to the Tiger Balm gardens in Singapore, just odd. Great but odd.

Not a lot of bridges in sight so we jumped on the opportunity to take the tunnel to the other side of the river. In hind sight we should have noticed that this wasn't going to be an ordinary pedestrian tunnel as we went down the escalator.

We were surprised to find what an underground cable car type of thingie.

After about 5 minutes the crazy flashing lights came to an end and we had arrived on the other side of the river. My photos really don't do the tunnel justice, it wasn't as tacky as it looks. Definitely a must do if ever you find yourselves in Shanghai :-)
