Arrived in Nanjing almost 3 weeks ago, trip over was smooth, bags all arrived and girls both enjoyed the long haul flight, the weird toilets, the movies and video games and of course lets not forget the snacks - I recommend the Hindi veg meal option :-)
Our school collected us and took us to our apartment. It's bigger than I expected, everyone likes it; modern and minimalist. We spent the first week being taken to various stores for groceries and house stuff and then did some visa things. The strangest of which was the medical - arm through a window where nurse on the other side took your blood, X-ray with all clothes still on, an ultra sound on everyone (men, women and children) think that was to check our liver? Also had ECG, eye test and routine checks. Each one in a different office, was like doing a scavenger hunt we got a stamp on our medical form at each stop.
We also had our pictures taken at several police stations, no hiding we're here now.
In true Heath style we have tried every restaurant in our apartment complex, the cheapie one has since become a firm favourite - dinner for 4 $8 including a beer and fizzy drinks.

- More pics of apartment to come, just need girls to tidy up a wee bit first
Nanny and I were really impressed with the girls in their uniforms... can't believe how neat and grown up Isla looks :)
